About Kevin Young
I am a State Registered (HPC reg) and Chartered Physiotherapist, and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and a Member of the Society of Sports Therapists, in addition to my membership of the British Acupuncture Council.
I have been involved in sports both as a competitor (for 30 years) and sports physio (17 years), and after retiring from competitive sports, I initially studied to become a Physical Therapist, subsequently gaining postgraduate diplomas in Physiotherapy and Joint Manipulations, Diplomas in Sports therapy and Sports massage.
I gained my BSc (Hons) in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture in 2000 at the University of Westminster, and followed this up with postgraduate certificates in Chinese Medical Patent Herbal Formulae and Tui-Na (Chinese Medical Massage). As part of my postgraduate work I studied with doctors in Chengdu, PR China. My interest in Chinese therapies and martial arts dates back to many years before that, and previously I trained in Northern Shaolin, and various other styles of kung fu, tai-chi and qi-gong. In addition to running my two clinics I teach Anatomy, Structural Diagnosis and Tui-Na (Chinese Medical Massage) at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and run my own advanced courses in sports therapy for acupuncturists.
I am also a trustee of the Arthritic Association and sit on BAcC PIC committee.
