Sports foot orthotics can be prescribed, where appropriate, along with specific sport rehabilitation exercises.

Each patient’s particular sport is taken into consideration, with the aim of expediting a fully functional return to normal sports activity.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been used in the Orient for many thousands of years to treat ailments, disease and injury. It is carried out using fine (one-use) sterile needles to regulate and balance the body’s natural energy system (Qi). This helps strengthen the body’s immune system and allows the patient’s own body to help repair and fight disease.

The needles are inserted into various acupuncture points on meridians (channels) where the energy flows. Patients may feel a slight sensation on insertion of the very fine needle.

Options such as Chinese tui-na massage are also available for patients who prefer a similar approach that does not employ needles.
